ABOUT FIREFIGHTER MEMORIAL FOUNDER FRANK PIZARRO
"Firefighters have been sacrificing their lives for the people they serve for over a century and when they fall to that sacrifice, they should be honored to the highest degree possible. Regardless of their financial status. No price can be placed on honor and ultimate sacrifice."
Thank you from FIREFIGHTER MEMORIAL FOUNDER FRANK PIZARRO
I am a retired FDNY 9/11 first responder from NYC. My name is Frank Pizarro. I was retired due to illnesses due to my service on that day. As I travelled throughout this great country, I realized that many line of duty retired members do not get the kind of sendoff when they pass away as they should. I decided that I would help fire departments and the families of the fallen get the honor and ceremony that they deserve. We started with a vehicle (courtesy of the city of Old Tappan NJ and the Old Tappan Volunteer Fire Department) that has been retrofitted with a lift and modernize to be the proud flagship procession vehicle in our fleet. It now transports in reverence the remains and the families to their final resting place. This truck is dedicated to a heroic firefighter, Raymond J. Pfeifer. Ray Pfeifer, was a firefighter and first responder to the 9/11 World Trade Center attack and an advocate for NYC firefighters. He passed away in 2017 from 9/11 related illnesses. I knew Ray and it is a tremendous privilege for this memorial procession truck to bear his name.
We are excited to share our recent progress and projects, which highlight the lasting impact of our work. Firefighter Memorial Transport has come a long way. We have escorted cherished loved ones and their families and provided comfort as well as resources to their families. Originally our focus was on acquiring our fleet and retrofitting lifts in the vehicles preparing them for procession. Now that our fleet is near completion, we are focusing our fundraising efforts toward securing reserves for scholarships and awards for the heirs of the celebrated. Your donations will help us give, more long term and tangible support for their family's future.
The next priority is to obtain a new facility to house the foundation, that will allow us to provide more extensive services and it will allow us to establish an Honor Garden and a Wellness Center resource for those in need.
We are so honored to serve the greater Las Vegas community that is abundant with individuals that have served for the betterment of everyone and have ensured our wellbeing and freedom.
Thank you to all of the caring individuals and organizations for your charitable donations and contributions. Because of you, our foundation has been able to administer benevolent assistance to the families of fallen service members. We could not have done it without the support of donors like you. Our foundation is grateful for the opportunity to serve the community.
Once again, thank you for supporting the families of our heroes and for valuing and honoring their legacy.
